DDA writes to LG over Delhi Jal Board

In a letter to lieutenant governor VK Saxena, the Delhi Development Authority claimed that the Delhi Jal Board's delay in issuing the required clearances caused the work to install water and sewer lines at Jailorwala Bagh, a rehabilitation housing project for slum people, to be put on hold.

The lack of a water and sewer network, it was further claimed, had caused the project to be delayed even though it was ready to be officially opened and the houses distributed.

The Kalkaji rehabilitation project's occupants were forced to rely on tankers for water because DIB did not provide a consistent water supply, according to additional information provided by DDA.
