Varanasi draft master plan 2031 prepared on GIS platform

The VDA board has given its approval for the draft as well as the base map prepared on the GIS platform. Both the masterplans presented to the VDA board during a meeting that was held on December 28.

After the approval granted by the Varanasi Development Authority’s board- VDA, the draft of the Master Plan-2031 has been prepared. The plan includes the development plan for Varanasi along with areas of Chandauli district under their limitations. They are furthermore displayed for seeking opinions and objections from the public.

VDA Vice-chairman, Isha Duhan said that the draft of the Varanasi Master plan- 2031 and Ramnagar, Mughalsarai Master Plan-2031 is prepared on the Geographic Information System or GIS platform. The plans have been drafted under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation- AMRUT, of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Central government. Even though Mughalsarai is a part of Chandauli district it is included in the VDA limits.

Additionally, after the approval, the process to seek suggestions and objections from the citizens on the draft has been commenced from Wednesday before taking the final call.

According to the VDA officials, the draft and base map are displayed across five different locations that include the VDA, Ramnagar, and Mughalsari. They are accessible on the official website of the authorities. The public can put forth their suggestions and objections to be included in the final output via an email, post, or even on the spot within a timeline of 30 days.
