Route Mobile offers WhatsApp tickets for Nagpur, Hyd and Pune metro

Route Mobile, has joined forces with Billeasy E Solutions to launch innovative WhatsApp-based ticketing services for metro rail networks in Nagpur, Hyderabad, and Pune. This initiative marks an expansion of their existing services, which already include Delhi, making it available in four major Indian cities.

The collaboration aims to streamline the ticket purchasing process for metro commuters by leveraging the ubiquitous messaging platform, WhatsApp. Users can now interact directly with the official WhatsApp accounts of respective metro networks. They can specify their journey details, select their starting and destination stations, indicate the number of tickets needed, and complete the payment seamlessly through the app.

Once the transaction is successful, users receive their QR code tickets directly via WhatsApp, eliminating the need for physical tickets and simplifying the boarding process. Route Mobile initially launched this service for the Delhi Metro in 2023. The announcement of this expansion has been met with positive market response, with Route Mobile's shares rising by 13.59% to Rs 1,737 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) following the news. The move comes amidst a broader push towards digital and contactless solutions in public transportation, driven by the need for efficiency, safety, and enhanced customer experience.
