The national transporter will execute the project through RailTel Corporation, which has invited bids for this project. Under the RDN Project, it will install around 65,000 display screens at about 2,000 stations.

The railways' public sector undertaking (PSU) information will be displaced, with information such as train arrival, departure, train running status, platform, passenger amenities, passenger security and safety, emergency messages and messages related to Disaster Management infotainment and social media messages for engaging passengers etc.

Chairman and Managing Director, RailTel, Puneet Chawla, said integrated and comprehensive information related to all the aspects of travelling is a big passenger amenity for Rail travellers. The RDN will cater to this requirement in a big way.

The national transporter also expects to get a boost in advertising revenue with more display avenues and branding opportunities through these display screens.
