Raj indicated that the Railway Board approved Rs 70.80 million for a survey and feasibility report for the additional lines.

A technical team has been assigned to complete the final location survey (FLS) work as soon as possible. Approximately 30% of the FLS work is already done, and the final work is projected to be completed by the end of this year. He added that over 260 pairs of passenger trains, including commuter ones, run on this route daily. To manage the growing traffic load each year, the railways has planned to construct two additional lines over a 390 km stretch.
