North Western Railway Seeks Bids for 2 MW Rooftop Solar Systems

The Bikaner Division of North Western Railway has issued an invitation for bids to install 2,068 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems on residential buildings. The contract is valued at Rs 90.94 million.

Bids must be submitted by August 12, 2024, with the opening taking place on the same day. Bidders are required to provide an earnest money deposit of Rs 604,700 million.

The chosen contractor will be expected to complete the installation of the systems within four months of receiving the work order. The project involves the supply, installation, and commissioning of grid-connected rooftop solar systems, including mono crystalline panels, inverters, MS hot-dipped galvanized structures, power conditioning units, junction boxes, AC and DC distribution boards, armored power and control cables, a remote data monitoring system, and net metering.

To be eligible, bidders must have completed either three similar projects, each costing at least 30 per cent of the contract value, or two similar projects, each costing at least 40 per cent of the contract value, or one similar project costing no less than 60 per cent of the contract value within the past seven years.

For this purpose, "similar work" refers to the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems, whether grid-connected or off-grid, with or without battery backup, intended for general use or street lighting.
