Mumbai Metro Line 10 Set for Innovative Double-Decker Design

This innovative metro line will commence at Gaimukh and culminate at Mira Road. Notably, the double-decker design will cover approximately four kilometres, soaring above an elevated road stretching from Gaimukh to Fountain Hotel on National Highway 8. Given constraints on widening the road at Ghodbunder, the double-decker structure will be erected at a minimum height of 20 metres above ground level.

The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has secured several approvals for the elevated road, and these approvals can be transferred to MMRDA. By 2024, MMRDA intends to initiate tender proceedings for this remarkable project, which has already appointed consultants and awaits only environmental clearance.

One notable aspect of this endeavour is that separate depot stations will not be required, as the existing depot at Mogharpada, designated for Lines 4, 4A, and 11, will serve the purpose efficiently.

For those curious about the future of Mumbai's metro system and its profound impact on the city, an upcoming event titled "Inno Metro" promises to provide deeper insights. This event invites participation to stay informed, engage actively, and collectively ride the metro toward a brighter and more sustainable future.
