Hyderabad Metro Unveils Second Phase Route Map

Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMRL) unveiled the route map for the second phase of the metro expansion on 19 January, which will connect Miyapur to Patancheru. The new route will span 13.4 km and include ten proposed stations: Miyapur, Alwyn X Road, Madinaguda, Chanda Nagar, Jyoti Nagar, BHEL, RC Puram, Beeramguda, and Patancheru. Station names are tentative and subject to change.

This expansion aims to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity for Hyderabad residents. The metro’s overall reach will increase to approximately 50 km, connecting Patancheru to Hayathnagar.

Previously, HMRL revealed another segment of Phase 2, extending the LB Nagar route to Hayathnagar over 7.1 km with six stations. This complements the existing Miyapur-LB Nagar Corridor I, which spans 29 km, and the upcoming Hayathnagar extension will further enhance connectivity in the region.
