Chennai Metro rail extends peak hours amid Diwali

Chennai Metro Rail announced that the evening peak hour services would be extended until 10 pm on November 9 to 10, aiming to assist travellers heading to their hometowns before Diwali. Normally, the evening peak hour services run from 5 pm to 8 pm. The trains operate at intervals of six minutes during these peak hours and switch to a nine-minute interval after 8 pm during non-peak hours.

A statement released by CMRL urged passengers to utilise the metro train services to steer clear of traffic congestion and ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey.
