Ashoka Buildcon secures Rs 334 cr Guj rail gauge conversion project

Ashoka Buildcon has emerged as the lowest bidder for Gujarat Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation's Bechraji-Ranuj section (35.15 km) gauge conversion project in the Ahmedabad Division of the Western Railway zone.

The 38.15 km metre gauge section of Bechraji (63.83 km)-Ranuj (101.98 km) is to be converted to a broad gauge with 25 kV AC electrification. The quoted value of the project is Rs 333.62 crore.

During the December 2020 quarter, the Ashoka Buildcon had won an order from NTPC renewable energy worth Rs 503 crore for an EPC package in Rajasthan.

With this, the company's total order booking as of December 31, 2020, stands at Rs 9,152 crore. The order booking consists of road projects—Rs 6,912 crore, which is 76% of the total orders.

For Ashoka Buildcon, road projects include hybrid annuity model (HAM) projects of around Rs 3,923 crore, while engineering procurement and construction (EPC) projects are around Rs 2,988 crore. Power transmission and distribution comprise around Rs 1,466 crore, which is 16% of the total order booking.

Meanwhile, railway projects contributed Rs 692 crore━approximately 8% of the order book.
