Japanese delegation visits MAHSR project work in Ahmedabad

A high-level Japanese delegation led by Suga Yoshihide, Chairman, The Japan India Association and Former PM of Japan, visited the Sabarmati Multimodal Transport Hub (SMTH) and the Sabarmati-Billimora section (SBS) launching site of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Project in Ahmedabad district.

The delegation was accompanied by Rajendra Prasad, MD/NHSRCL, the Member of the House of Representatives Japan, the Ambassador of Japan in India, and senior officers from JR East (East Japan Railway Company), JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), MOFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan) and NHSRCL.

The delegation was given a detailed presentation on the SMTH project, which is being developed as a multi-modal transport hub that will integrate the high-speed rail line, metro, BRTS, and other modes of transportation. The delegation also visited the SBS launching site, where they saw the progress of the construction work.
