Panvel civic body approves construction plan of new headquarter

The Panvel City Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has approved the proposal for the construction of the new headquarters in a general meeting.

The new structure will be built on plot No 4 in Sector 16 of New Panvel.

On Friday, Mayor Kavita Kishor Chautmol held a general body meeting at Vasudev Balwant Phadke Natyagruha.

In the general body meeting, a resolution for the construction of a new corporate headquarters was presented, which was unanimously approved by all corporators, said Public Relations Officer of the PCMC, Varsha Kulkarni.

The first phase would cost Rs 117 crore. There will be a drivers room, a fan room, a service room, an STP room, and parking on the sixth floor of the proposed headquarters building.

The ground floor will house a citizen service centre, a handicapped room, a store, a press room, a restaurant, and a library. A computer room and a bank ATM will be available on the first floor.

A multi-purpose hall, a fire department, an environment department, a tree authority department, a disaster management department, a tax department, an accounting department, an auditor department, and a solid waste management department will be located on the second floor.

Water, electricity, drainage, medical health, security, information and technology, property, sports, and law departments will all be on the third floor.

The town planning department, city engineer department, executive engineer (project) department, records room, and space for future expansion will be located on the fourth floor.

Mayor's Hall, Deputy Mayor's Hall, Standing Committee Hall, House Leader's Hall, Opposition Leader's Hall, Conference Hall, Committee Meeting Room, and Commissioner's Hall, Additional Commissioner's Hall will all be on the fifth level.

On the top floor, there will be a Press viewing gallery, VIP gallery, Audio Visual Room, and an art gallery on the terrace, as well as Women Corporator's Room, Secretary's Office, General Assembly Hall, and Women-Child Welfare Committee Hall.
