NHAI develops 51-km Kamakhyanagar-Duburi stretch in Odisha

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has developed a 51-km road stretch in Odisha connecting Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal district and Duburi in Jajpur district.

“Working towards ensuring quality infrastructure in #Odisha, NHAI has developed an approx. 51 km long project stretch of Kamakhyanagar-Duburi, at total cost of Rs 479 cr. #PragatiKaHighway #GatiShakti,” Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari tweeted.

Kamakhyanagar-Duburi was one of three major highway projects – with a total length of 132 km – launched by Gadkari in Odisha in February 2019, entailing an investment of Rs 23.45 billion.

Other projects for which foundation stones were laid by Gadkari included four-laning of the 41.7 km Talcher-Kamakhyanagar section of NH 200/23 (new NH 53) and 39.4 km Duburi-Chandikhole section of NH 200 (new NH 53).

The projects include three bypasses, one flyover, 19 vehicular underpasses, nine major and 39 minor bridges and a 45 km service road. Once all are completed, it will reduce traffic congestion and travel time, as a result of which operating costs of vehicles and pollution level will be reduced.
