New Ring Road from Ajwa ensures smooth drive to SOU

There is a busy highway running parallel to Vadodara city on the eastern side, connecting Ahmedabad to Mumbai. It was noted that due to heavy traffic, the national highway 48 often experiences jams and fatal accidents. However, it was forecasted that the situation would improve as there would be a decrease in traffic flow soon.

According to the Vadodara Urban Development Authority (VUDA), work had commenced on a ring road aimed at alleviating the traffic congestion on NH 48. The chairman of VUDA, Dilip Rana, stated that they were in the process of constructing a ring road starting from Ajwa Road and traversing through the existing Waghodia Road. Rana mentioned that this ring road would link up with Dabhoi Road, leading to the Statue of Unity. He further explained that drivers coming from Ahmedabad could divert onto Ajwa bypass from NH 48 and access the ring road, facilitating travel to Dabhoi Road and other destinations. Rana informed that once operational, they anticipated a reduction in NH 48 traffic by approximately 20%.

The new ring road on the eastern side was reported to be 11 kilometers long and 75 meters wide, featuring four lanes. It was stated that construction had commenced and was expected to conclude within a couple of years. Additionally, provisions would be made for potential future expansion of the road's width if necessary.
