Madhya Pradesh is set to witness construction of 3,600 km of state highways, amounting to a Rs.72.5 billion investment. The government said it had constructed 16,510 km from 2004 to 2023. Plans include an eight-lane elevated corridor west of Bhopal bypass as an alternative to VIP Road. The Jabalpur-Narsinghpur four-lane road has a budget of  Rs.7.56 billion while the Narmadapuram-Pipariya four-lane road will cost  Rs.8.4 billion. Two-lane state highways from 328 km in 2003 have grown to 3,428 km in 2023.
