Ladakh receives Rs 366 mn for Rural Road Development

In a bid to enhance the rural road infrastructure along Ladakh's borders with China and Pakistan, the rural development ministry has greenlit the allocation of Rs 366 million for the Union territory as part of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) for the financial year 2023-24.

Under the third phase of PMGSY, the government aims to establish a 500 km rural road network in Ladakh. The earmarked fund of Rs 36.6 crore will be utilised for the construction of roads and bridges, development of district roads, and implementation of PMGSY roads in the border regions of Ladakh.
