IMC to complete five out of 10 major road projects this FY

The much-discussed Khandwa Road is one of ten significant under-construction roads for which the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has published schedules.

"To allow for free flow of traffic, we are constructing a network of large roadways in the city. The timeframe for the main roadways that are still under construction has also been revealed, according to mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav.

Five out of ten significant road projects that are now under development, according to a chart provided by IMC, will be finished in the fiscal year 2023–2024.

The Khandwa Road will be the first project to be finished.

According to Bhargav, work on the eagerly anticipated Khandwa Road, which runs 6.5 km from Bhanwarkuan Square to the Tejaji Nagar underpass, would be finished in June. "The road is being constructed at a cost of 526.8 million," he continued.

Additionally, the RE-2 project, which had run into difficulties because of obstructions caused by structures, will also be finished this fiscal year.

The Indore Development Authority and IMC are working together to build this road. The IMC is still having structures removed even after the IDA had finished its portion of the job. According to the mayor, work is also being done on the section that runs from Bhuri Tekri to RTO via Nemawar Road. He stated, "The project, which is estimated to cost roughly Rs 42 crore, will be finished in the current fiscal.

The route between Imli Bazaar and Mari Mata Square and the section between Musakhedi and Sanwariya Mandir would also open this fiscal.

According to the IMC, work would also be finished this fiscal year on the section that runs through Azad Nagar Square from Navlakha Square to the District Jail.

Additionally, the IMC promised to ensure that 40% of MR-3's work and 50% of RW-1's work (from Banganga Railway Cross to ISBT on MR-10) and MR-4's work (from Banganga Railway Crossing to Bhandari Bridge Underpass) and MR-5's work (from Khade Ganpati-Tigariya Badshah Road) would be finished during the current fiscal year.
