GB Road Expansion to Alleviate Traffic Congestion in Thane

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has launched the ambitious expansion project for GB Road, a crucial infrastructure development intended to alleviate the severe traffic congestion in Thane. This project involves widening the road from its current 4 lanes to 8 lanes, along with the addition of modern traffic management systems and pedestrian facilities.

GB Road, a major thoroughfare connecting Thane to key areas within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, has long been plagued by traffic jams, especially during peak hours. The expansion is designed to enhance road capacity, reduce travel time, and improve overall traffic flow, addressing the growing demands of the rapidly expanding urban area.
