GB Road Expansion to Alleviate Traffic Congestion in Thane

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has launched the ambitious expansion project for GB Road, a crucial infrastructure development intended to alleviate the severe traffic congestion in Thane. This project involves widening the road from its current 4 lanes to 8 lanes, along with the addition of modern traffic management systems and pedestrian facilities.

GB Road, a major thoroughfare connecting Thane to key areas within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, has long been plagued by traffic jams, especially during peak hours.
