DMRC initiates E-Tender for $4.2688 bn Patna subway link

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Ltd. has commenced an open e-tender for the construction of a tunnel (subway) connecting Bihar Museum and Patna Museum, with a projected investment of $4.2688 bn, including 18% GST.

Covered under contract PC-08R, the scope encompasses "Design and Construction of Single Tunnel (SUBWAY) between Bihar Museum and Patna Museum using Shield TBM, along with Fire Escapes, Ancillary Buildings, Entry/Exit Structures incorporating Architectural Finishing, Water Supply, Sanitary Installation & Drainage Works at Patna."

A security deposit of $10 mn is requisite for participating in the tender. Notably, the tender security payment must originate from the bidder's personal account. For Joint Ventures (JVs) or Consortia, this deposit can be drawn from the JV/Consortium account or that of a constituent member.

The ambitious project is projected to be completed within a 30-month span.

Scheduled for September 1, 2023, a virtual pre-bid meeting is planned, facilitated by software apps like Cisco Webex. Potential bidders are obligated to register participating personnel (up to two individuals) for the virtual meeting by August 31, 2023.

Tender submissions are slated to begin on September 19, 2023, and will remain open until September 26, 2023. The DMRC's forward-looking initiative marks a substantial stride toward enhancing connectivity and infrastructure in the region.
