Bhopal transport department to onboard six more companies

In response to public transportation operators' concerns about the lack of a Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD), the transportation department is planning to hire six more companies to install it in passenger and school buses. The proposal has been sent to the government. Currently, ten companies are installing VLTD in public transportation buses. According to sources in the transportation department, the proposal could be approved by the government within four days. If permission is granted, 16 companies will install VLTD in public transportation vehicles. The six companies were chosen after a rigorous testing process. The companies have to fulfil certain conditions before receiving the work.

The first requirement is that VLTD is tracked on the portal and its signals are received immediately. To address the pricing concerns raised by public transportation vehicle operators, the transport department stated that the cost of installing VLTD was lower in MP than in other states.
