DMIC Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida gives SPV a major boost

DMIC Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida (IITGNL) has been declared as the fourth industrial authority in Gautam Budh Nagar, giving a major boost to the SPV’s efforts of building a smart township along the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial corridor.

Under a notification issued by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, IITGNL will have the powers to sanction building of maps, create layout plans, apart from planning urban areas in the township as well as continuing with the process of allotment of industrial plots. The other three industrial authorities in Gautam Budh Nagar include: Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway.

“The decision by the Uttar Pradesh Government will facilitate IITGNL’s potential to frame its own bye-laws and grant different proposals, raising expectations of doing business with ease. We see this development as a significant step in furthering IITGNL’s goal of setting up a dedicated industrial township in the DMIC corridor,” said Alkesh Sharma, CEO and MD, Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC).

Narendra Bhooshan, CEO IITGNL and CEO GNIDA, said that the notification by the Uttar Pradesh Government will help the SPV expedite the process of setting up the township, ease the work load of other industrial authorities in the district as well as reinforce the state’s commitment in smoothening operations related to infrastructure work and industrial townships.

Integrated Industrial Township at Greater Noida is the first smart industrial city being developed in Uttar Pradesh under the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor, among India’s most ambitious infrastructure project. The township has been developed through an SPV company DMIC Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida, which has been established as a JV between National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority. The township is exclusively planned for Hi-Tech/IT, Bio-Tech and R&D units and will also have residential and commercial development in future.

So far, IITGNL has allotted industrial plots to four corporate houses this year, with investments worth more than Rs 3,500 crore. The companies who will be setting up their manufacturing facilities at the township, include: Haier Appliances India, Chinese Mobile maker Forme’s Indian subsidiary Forme Trading, Satkriti Infotainment, and Starion India.

One of the most ambitious infrastructure projects of the world, DMIC is being developed as a global manufacturing and investment destination with the 1483-km-long western dedicated freight corridor as its backbone. Dholera (Gujarat) is the biggest of the eight industrial smart cities being developed in the first phase of the project.
