Chittoor to get its third airport

After releasing the vision action plan document at the Collectorate in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly approved for establishing another airport at Madanapalle.

The proposed airport at Madanapalle is expected to be the third one in the district as international airport is presently functioning in Tirupati, while the process for setting up an airport at Kuppam has reportedly begun.

Due to its geographical boundaries, Chittoor is suitable for setting up industries. Also, the minister reportedly appreciated the district officials including Collector P S Pradyumna for securing first place in the country for effective implementation of social welfare schemes. Reports suggest that swimming pools would be constructed at Palamaner, Nagari, Madanapalle, Puttur and Punganur. That said, Chittoor district is expected to emerge as a model one in the country in the next five years.

In order to bring water to the western parts of the district through Gandikota reservoir, the state government is expected to spend Rs 26.07 billion.

Besides, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister had recently laid the foundation stone for Kuppam airport. The airport is expected to be operational in the coming eight months and is said to provide direct connectivity to Amaravati and Bengaluru. Also, based on the traffic, it will later extend to other locations as well.
