Minicoy in Lakshadweep soon to have an airport

Representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Tribal Affairs, Environment and Forests, adviser (NRE), NITI Aayog along with Indian Air Force visited Minicoy and discussed issues related to implementation of identified projects in Lakshadweep for its holistic development. It was reportedly discussed that Minicoy in Lakshadweep will soon have an airport. The proposed site for the airport at north end starts from the newly constructed Indian Coast Guard station and the Thundi area. The airport is expected to boost the connectivity to this isolated island Minicoy.
