L&T to construct Abu Dhabi Airport's terminal complex

L&T Construction is to commence work on an airport terminal project in Abu Dhabi this month. The construction period of the project is 28 months. The terminal complex is expected to be commissioned by 2017, said a statement from the firm. L&T has secured the project for $256.77 million.

Under the contract, the firm will develop a midfield terminal complex at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. The contract has been awarded by Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) and the work on the complex is part of this company's major expansion programme of Abu Dhabi International Airport. L&T will build concrete hard stands for aircraft parking around the new midfield terminal building, including contact and remote stands, among other works.

Abu Dhabi International Airport is the capital's main airport and the flagship of ADAC's five airports it operates.
