REC receives Mahatma Award for CSR

REC Limited, a Navratna NBFC and Infrastructure Finance Company (IFC) focusing on power sector financing and development, has recently been conferred the “Mahatma Award for CSR Excellence 2020”.

The company received the award for their endeavours in the fields of education, nutrition, health, and the extensive humanitarian efforts undertaken to provide relief from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Dr SN Srinivas, CEO of REC Limited received the award on behalf of the REC Foundation, and revealed REC’s initiative in Gurugram, “School Aapke Dwar”, an innovative mobile school bus along with a solar roof system to power fans, lights, computer to run this mobile school; two laptops; study material and school uniform for imparting free education to about 500 deprived children of migrant construction labours living in Haryana.

Some of the prominent people who were honoured with the Mahatma Award at the ceremony held on Mahatma Gandhi's 73rd death anniversary were, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and actress Shabana Azmi.
