Uttarakhand CM Launches Projects Worth Rs 1.88 Bn in Dehradun

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated 74 schemes worth Rs 188.07 crore at Kanak Chowk, Dehradun, on Sunday.

The schemes include 36 completed projects worth Rs 111.22 crore and 38 new projects worth Rs 76.85 crore.

Among the initiatives, the Chief Minister inaugurated electric vehicle charging stations at four locations in Dehradun and laid the foundation for two automated parking facilities and one surface parking lot, collectively valued at around Rs 11 crore.

Additionally, three rescue and rehabilitation vehicles for the prevention of child beggary were launched, alongside the inauguration of the letter management desk at the District Magistrate’s office in Dehradun.

The Chief Minister remarked that the projects cover diverse sectors such as education, health, roads, drinking water, irrigation, flood protection, and urban development, aiming to enhance convenience for residents in Dehradun and surrounding areas.

The automated parking facilities and surface parking lot, constructed at a cost of Rs 11 crore, are designed to alleviate traffic congestion in busy parts of Dehradun. The rescue vehicles will play a key role in rehabilitating children involved in begging.

Furthermore, the newly inaugurated letter management desk will improve the tracking and management of official correspondence.

Dhami emphasised that, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, the state government remains dedicated to Uttarakhand’s holistic development. As part of the Dehradun Smart City Project, smart toilets and smart water management systems have been introduced.
