PM Modi to inaugurate Assam Advantage 2.0 Summit in February 2025

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Assam Advantage 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025 in Guwahati, scheduled for February 24-25.

At a press conference held at Lok Sewa Bhawan in Guwahati, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the state government would be organizing the summit with the aim of further enhancing investment and infrastructure development in Assam. He stated that the Prime Minister had given his consent to attend the summit, and that the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would be invited to attend the closing ceremony. Sarma mentioned that a previous edition of the Assam Advantage summit had attracted significant investment, and highlighted that over the past four years, the peaceful environment, terror-free conditions, and agitation-free atmosphere of Assam had attracted considerable interest from investors.

The Chief Minister explained that the state government plans to organize several seminars focusing on different infrastructure sectors during the summit. He also mentioned that Union Ministers, including Nitin Gadkari, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and the Civil Aviation Minister, would be invited to the event.

Sarma further revealed that three groups from Assam would visit countries such as Singapore, Japan, the USA, the UK, and Dubai to promote the Assam Advantage 2.0 summit through roadshows. In addition, roadshows would be held in six metropolitan cities in India, including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Bengaluru, to attract investors from both India and abroad.

Moreover, the state government plans to organize a Mega Jhumoir Dance during the summit, which will take place on either February 24 or 25, with around 7,500 dancers and artists from the tea garden areas of Assam participating in the event.
