Piyush Goyal highlights PM Modi’s Vision for Uttar Pradesh

Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, during his closing speech at the 2nd edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS), remarked that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's efforts in developing Uttar Pradesh would contribute to the state achieving a US$ 1 trillion economy in its initial phase. Shri Goyal observed that the dual leadership of Uttar Pradesh, under Shri Yogi Adityanath and guided by the Prime Minister, would support India in reaching a US$ 5 trillion economy in its first phase, ultimately laying the foundation for a US$ 35 trillion economy and a developed India by 2047.

He emphasised that the industrial and progressive policies enacted by Shri Yogi Adityanath, in line with the Prime Minister's visionary approach, have turned the state into a holistic model of development within the country. Reflecting on the ‘Make in India’ initiative, Shri Goyal noted that PM Modi's vision, launched on 25th September 2014, to elevate India as a global manufacturing hub, has created employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for the nation's youth.

Shri Goyal also announced that the anniversary of the ‘Make in India’ initiative would be commemorated annually with the inauguration of the UP International Trade Show. He mentioned that both the central and state governments have consistently prioritised simplifying laws and promoting ease of doing business. In a collaborative effort, they are developing an industrial smart city in Greater Noida, with a total of 20 such cities being planned across the country.

Praising the success of the trade show’s second edition, Shri Goyal highlighted that over 2,500 exhibitors participated, and more than 100,000 people attended the event, which took place from 25th to 29th September 2024. He also commended Shri Adityanath and the Uttar Pradesh government for their focus on youth skill development, which has provided skilled labour to companies investing in the state. This initiative has significantly reduced outmigration from Uttar Pradesh, with industries benefiting from a readily available talent pool, enhancing the state's appeal to investors. According to Shri Goyal, the UP government has not only driven holistic development but has also made strides in improving social infrastructure and human development.
