Mumbai's Upcoming Infrastructure Projects Set for Transformation

Mumbai is on the brink of a significant transformation over the next nine months, spearheaded by the opening of the Metro 3 underground line. This project aims to alleviate the city’s chronic traffic congestion and relieve pressure on the already burdened suburban railway system. In addition, the Navi Mumbai airport's first terminal is poised to address airport capacity issues, while the completion of the missing link on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway will drastically reduce travel time between the two cities.

Key Projects Scheduled for Completion New Vashi Creek Bridge - September

A six-lane bridge expanding capacity to 12 lanes. Benefit: Eliminates traffic bottlenecks, enhancing flow between Vashi and surrounding areas. Metro 3, Phase I - October

Connecting Aarey to BKC with 10 stations, including links to major airports. Stations: Aarey Colony, Seepz, MIDC, Marol Naka, T2, Sahar Road, T1, Santacruz, Vidyanagar, BKC. Full Coastal Road - December

Completing the northward arm will facilitate signal-free traffic from Marine Drive to T2 via Bandra. Future Openings New Vashi Creek Bridge, Full Opening - February 2025

The south-bound bridge and new toll booth will enhance connectivity. Navi Mumbai International Airport - March 2025

Phase 1 features a single runway and a terminal with a capacity of 20 million passengers annually. Metro 3, Phase II - May 2025

Completing the Dharavi-Cuffe Parade section will enable full corridor operations with numerous key stations. Eway Missing Link - June 2025

Expected to save motorists 30 minutes on trips between Mumbai and Pune, featuring the world’s widest twin tunnels at 47 meters. These developments are set to significantly improve transportation efficiency and connectivity in Mumbai, paving the way for a more streamlined urban environment.
