MoD Signs Tripartite MoU for Indigenous Advanced Engine System

In a significant move towards bolstering indigenous capabilities in defense technology, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has sealed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BEML Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), and Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI). The agreement, aimed at the development of an Advanced Fuelling and Control System for Engines tailored for heavy-duty applications, was formalized during a ceremony in New Delhi.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane, with Chairman & Managing Director of BEML Limited, Shri Shantanu Roy; CMD of MIDHANI, Dr. SK Jha; and CMD of BEL, Shri Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, representing their respective organizations.

This collaborative endeavor underscores a concerted effort to harness indigenous capabilities for the design, testing, and manufacturing of an Advanced Fuelling and Control System. The system is envisioned to offer heightened efficiency, performance, and reliability, aligning with the evolving demands of heavy-duty applications in combat vehicles.

By leveraging the latest advancements in engine technology and control systems, the partnering companies aim to extend their domain expertise to ensure self-reliance in the crucial domain of Combat vehicles. This strategic initiative aligns with the government's vision under the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India) initiative, emphasizing the development of complex technologies within the country.

The MoU not only signifies a commitment to technological advancement but also reinforces the resolve of the Government to foster indigenous innovation and self-sufficiency in critical sectors of national security.
