Minister R K Singh unveils EESL's dual initiatives

Union Power Minister R K Singh would be launching two energy-saving initiatives, namely the National Efficient Cooking Programme (NECP) and the Energy Efficient Fans Programme (EEFP). The official stated that the minister had recently launched the star labelling program for solar panels, which aimed to inform consumers about the efficiency of their solar projects. Now, on November 2, he was set to launch two more initiatives, NECP and EEFP.

The NECP, initiated by EESL, aimed to promote energy-efficient cooking methods. EESL's induction-based cookstoves provided a cost advantage of 25-30 per cent compared to traditional cooking methods, helping in saving both cost and energy.

EEFP, another program by EESL, focused on promoting energy-efficient cooling solutions. The deployment of energy-efficient BLDC fans led to a reduction in energy consumption and minimised environmental impact.

Gujarat Struggles to Curb Illegal Constructions in Ahmedabad

The Gujarat Regulation of Unauthorised Development Act, 2022, presents a contradiction. While it ostensibly seeks to curb unauthorised development, it simultaneously legalises such constructions upon payment of a fee. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's (AMC) practice of demolishing certain structures while regularising others for a fee has weakened..

Gujarat HC Removes GST on Industrial Leases to Encourage Investment

The recent ruling is set to streamline transactions and potentially encourage increased investments in India’s industrial and commercial leasing sectors. The judgment addressed whether transferring leasehold rights for Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) plots constitutes a ‘supply’ under the GST Act. The court determined that these transactions involve the transfer of immovable property rather than a service, thereby placing them outside the purview of GST. This decision offers significant relief to industries such as manufacturing, logistics, and warehousing, where long..
