Union Minister Jitendra Singh visited the CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (CSIR-IMTECH) in Chandigarh, inspecting the microbe repository and other research facilities while reviewing the institute's ongoing projects. 

Singh, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, stressed the importance of microbial technology as a key pillar of biotechnology and its growing role in driving the next industrial revolution. 

He also virtually connected with the CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (CSIR-IHBT) in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, where he inaugurated new facilities and engaged in critical scientific discussions.
