Himachal CM Inaugurates Rs 130 Million Dhalli Bus Stand in Shimla

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the newly constructed Dhalli Bus Stand in Shimla. He announced that the construction of the Dhalli Sabzi Mandi would be completed within the next 18 months.

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, who manages the transport portfolio, Sukhu criticised the previous BJP government, stating that it had laid the foundation stones for Dhalli and Theog bus stands without allocating any budget. He described these actions as being motivated solely by electoral gains.

The Chief Minister explained that the Congress government had allocated Rs 50 million last year and an additional Rs 50 million this fiscal year to ensure the completion of the Dhalli Bus Stand, which was constructed at a total cost of Rs 130.25 million. He also mentioned that a modern HRTC workshop was under construction in the area at an estimated cost of Rs 240 million.

Sukhu laid the foundation stone for the modernisation of the Dhalli vegetable market, which is projected to cost Rs 360 million. He indicated that work on the vegetable market would begin within a month and added that a new vehicle parking facility would also be constructed at Dhalli.

Highlighting the state government's focus on road infrastructure, Sukhu said that the Parwanoo-Shimla four-lane highway extending to Dhalli would be completed within two years. Additionally, he inaugurated a community centre and parking facility in the Cemetery area of Sanjauli, built at a cost of Rs 10.65 million.

While addressing the gathering at Dhalli, the Chief Minister noted that Himachal Pradesh had become the first state to offer a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 45 per litre for cow milk and Rs 55 per litre for buffalo milk. To enhance rural incomes, he mentioned that the government was purchasing wheat and maize produced through natural farming at an MSP of Rs 40 and Rs 30 per kilogram, respectively.
