Gujarat govt signs 39 more MoUs during 10th VGGIS

Ahead of the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Investor Summit (VGGIS), the government of Gujarat signed 39 more Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs).

The MoUs are related to renewable energy, ports, green hydrogen, pesticides, synthetic chemicals, education and training and research.

Its sixth and final tranche of MoUs ahead of VGGIS is between 10-12 January.

Before the VGGIS, the government had signed 135 MoUs worth more than Rs 60,000 crore. For the last two tranches, the government has not enclosed the financial details of the MoUs.

Shree Cement had signed an MoU with the Gujarat government to set up an integrated cement plant, a captive jetty, a cement grinding unit and captive solar projects in Lakhpat, Kutch.

Shree Rama Newsprint has planned to set up an agro-processing plant with 20,000 tonnes per day capacity to crush maize in Surat.

Madura Carbon India has shown interest in carbon production in Valsad, while DCM Shriram has zeroed its carbon production on the manufacturing of its special chemicals in the Bharuch district.

Baroda Rayon Corporation Limited has signed with the government an MoU for 15,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) viscose filament yarn and 6,600 TPA caustic soda manufacturing in the Dahej district.

Alembic Pharmaceuticals signed an MoU for expanding its synthetic organic chemical plant in the Bharuch district. Hettich Group, a furniture fittings manufacturer, has signed an MoU through Hettich India to produce Quadro channels in Vadodara.

Ambica Steels signed an agreement for a greenfield integrated stainless steel plant of 20,000 TPA in Kutch.TN India Private Limited will set up a chrome steel bolts manufacturing plant, while Vishakha Group is interested in setting up a solar module component production facility in Kutch.
