Google Signs MoU with Andhra to Drive AI Innovation and Adoption

Andhra Pradesh has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Google to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across various sectors, including healthcare, while boosting the local startup ecosystem. The agreement focuses on enhancing skill development and narrowing the digital divide by equipping citizens with the necessary training and resources to succeed in an AI-driven economy.

Under this partnership, Google will also support the state's startup ecosystem to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in AI. Google Cloud will collaborate with the government to provide skilling programs for government agencies, including certifications and skill badges in cybersecurity, data analytics, and generative AI.

Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed enthusiasm, stating, "We are pleased to partner with Google to integrate AI solutions and accelerate Andhra Pradesh’s growth. This collaboration aligns with our vision of using technology for the betterment of our citizens. We aim to empower individuals and businesses by harnessing AI, building a thriving environment for innovation across the state."

The MoU was signed in Amaravati, in the presence of Nara Lokesh, Minister of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Bikram Singh Bedi, Vice President and Country MD of Google Cloud India, and S. Suresh Kumar, Secretary of Real-Time Governance Society, Andhra Pradesh.

Nara Lokesh remarked, "We believe that AI can empower citizens and businesses to innovate and excel. This collaboration with Google is a significant step in realizing our vision of creating an inclusive ecosystem where AI drives progress. We aim to foster an AI-ready workforce, a vibrant startup ecosystem, and ensure the lasting benefits of AI for all."

As part of the MoU, Google will provide 10,000 certifications for the Google AI Essentials course, which teaches people how to use AI to improve productivity and efficiency in their personal and professional lives.
