Fadnavis: 'Ladki Bahin' Installments to Reach Accounts on Aug 17

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Sunday that the Maharashtra government would deposit the 'Ladki Bahin' scheme instalments for July and August into the beneficiaries' accounts on August 17. He mentioned that the newly introduced scheme is receiving a significant response in the state, with 10.5 million women having registered for it thus far. This statement was made during his address at a BJP workers' meeting in Akola.

Under the 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin' scheme, married, divorced, and destitute women aged 21-60 are eligible to receive Rs 1,500 per month, provided their annual family income does not exceed Rs 02.5 million.

Fadnavis stated that the instalments for July and August would be credited to the beneficiaries' accounts on August 17.

He also highlighted that the government is working to provide apprenticeships to one million unemployed youths in the state for six months under the 'Mukhya Mantri Yuva Karyaprashikshan Yojana'. Additionally, Fadnavis reported that the government has generated 12,000 megawatts of solar energy over the past year and a half, noting that this would relieve the government of financial burdens. Consequently, farmers would be provided with free electricity.

In the state budget presented in June, ahead of the assembly elections, the Maharashtra government had announced a range of populist measures aimed at women, unemployed youths, farmers, and households.
