AP to commence 36 projects by December: CS

Dr KS Jawahar Reddy, Chief Secretary, AP, revealed that 36 new projects, companies, and industries, for which MoUs had been signed during the Global Investors' Summit (GIS), would become operational in Andhra Pradesh by December that year.

Dr Reddy reviewed the progress of projects approved by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) during the GIS with officials of various departments. He requested the Industries Commissioner, Praveen Kumar, to submit fortnightly reports on the progress in implementing these projects. In total, 107 MoUs had been signed by various companies during the GIS, involving a cumulative investment of Rs 3.41 trillion, which would generate employment for 2.38 lakh people. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister, had already inaugurated a few of these companies.

Dr Reddy ordered the officials to be prepared for laying the foundation stones or inaugurating another 36 projects by the end of December.

In that context, he directed the officials to expedite construction works at the Ramayapatnam, Machilipatnam, and Mulapet (Bhavanapadu) ports, which would facilitate the export of products manufactured in the state.

During the meeting, Industries Commissioner Praveen Kumar made a PowerPoint presentation on various projects, including the 36 projects that are coming up in the state.

Collectors of Nellore, Krishna, and Srikakulam districts – Harinarayana, Rajababu, and Srikesh – participated in the meeting virtually.

The review meeting saw the participation of Rabindranath Reddy, CEO, AP Maritime Board Deputy and Pratap Reddy, MD, Ramayapatnam Port among others.

Oil trims losses on tight near-term supply
