Ajjree Engineering to play key role in future ISRO missions

Ajjree Engineering Industries Pvt Ltd has emerged as a pivotal contributor to India's space endeavours, with plans to supply "space-qualified heat pipes" for upcoming Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) missions. The Bengaluru-based company delivered its inaugural batch of these crucial satellite components to ISRO's UR Rao Satellite Centre.

Basavvraaj B. Ajrri, Managing Director of Ajjree Engineering Industries, expressed pride in this milestone and thanked ISRO for its guidance. The company has established a manufacturing unit in Bengaluru for producing space-qualified heat pipes, making it the second such entity approved by ISRO to supply these components.

The firm's products undergo rigorous testing at its Jigani testing centre. Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd, a strategic partner, has invested Rs 55 million in Ajjree Engineering Industries.

On this occasion, the team involved in the successful launch of Chandrayaan 3 was also honoured by the company.

M. Sankaran, Director of U R Rao Satellite Centre, noted that if the heat pipes meet quality standards, Ajjree Industries could become ISRO's secondary supplier. Heat pipes are vital for regulating satellite temperature and ensuring optimal functioning.

India's successful Chandrayaan-3 soft landing on the moon has marked a historic achievement, with India becoming the fourth nation to achieve this feat and the first to land near the moon's South Pole. This region is significant due to its potential water ice reserves that could be utilised in future space missions.

Several private companies, including Tata Consulting Engineers Limited, Larsen & Toubro, Ananth Technologies, Omnipresent Robotic Technologies Ltd, and Semiconductor Laboratory, have played integral roles in ISRO's missions, showcasing India's strides in space technology.
