Tecnimont ICB is the proud recipient of the IPMA International Project Excellence Award 2011.

Tecnimont ICB Pvt Ltd (TICB), the Indian subsidiary of Maire Tecnimont Group, recently announced that it had been awarded the IPMA International Project Excellence Award 2011, in Big Size Project category for the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) Carbon Dioxide Recovery (CDR) project.

In the same award ceremony held in Brisbane, Australia, the joint team formed by Tecnimont ICB Pvt Ltd and Tecnimont SpA, the main operative company of the Maire Tecnimont Group, was awarded the IPMA International Project Excellence Award 2011, in the Mega Size project category for the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) Polypropylene (PP), Panipat (India) project.

About the projects

The IOCL PP project in Panipat comprised a polypropylene unit (two streams with each 300,000 TPA-2 X 300 KTY) plus a product warehouse with bagging machines for all polymers. This project was successfully realised by Tecnimont SpA in 2010 on an EPCC lump sum Turnkey basis.

The GPIC CDR project in Bahrain involved building a plant to recover carbon dioxide from the flue gas emitted by the reformer in the methanol plant. The project was successfully implemented by Tecnimont ICB, India in 2010 on an EPCC lump sum turnkey basis.  
The above projects have undergone a critical assessment process according to the IPMA Model for Project Excellence and have achieved the highest status of 'Prize Winner' in their respective categories.

About the awards

The IPMA International Project Excellence Award is annually bestowed upon the most successful project teams in the world. The award diligently recognises excellent project management methods practiced across international projects. The award was presented for the first time at the IPMA World Congress in Berlin in 2002.

These coveted awards signify the excellent project management standards followed by Maire Tecnimont Group companies across global projects of all sizes and complexities.
