VMRDA identifies three areas for MIG plot development in Vizag suburbs

The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has identified three land parcels, measuring 363 acres in the district, for middle-income group (MIG) plots development.

These layouts would be developed in GS Agraharam, Ramavaram, and Palavala in the Vizag suburbs.

The Visakhapatnam development authority sent the proposals to the Andhra Pradesh government, and a government order in this respect is expected to be released in the next few days.

Under Jagananna Smart Towns, the Andhra Pradesh government is preparing to develop MIG plots in the urban local bodies across the state.

Under this scheme, the demand survey for the MIG layouts received around 3.9 lakh applications from prospective buyers. The VMRDA identified three different land plots in the district, as part of the same. The plots will be developed in three distinct sizes – 150, 200, and 240 square yards, as per preliminary guidelines of the scheme.

Depending on the requirement after evaluating the preliminary demand, it is planned to develop these smart townships in the district headquarters in around 150-250 acres and 50-100 acres in the different areas. The initiative's key objective is to give clear title residential plots at affordable costs to the people, said A Vijaya Nirmala, chairperson, VMRDA.

The layouts will lead to integrated development as they will have all the infrastructural amenities. In the Vizag suburbs, the VMRDA has zeroed in on three land parcels, said Vijaya Nirmala.

The VMRDA is preparing to develop new layouts in the suburbs as the urban development authority has land parcels on all sides of the city.
