Telangana government to legalise property in Azamabad Industrial Area

For the first time, the cash-strapped Telangana government intends to raise money by legalising land in an industrial zone.

After paying market value, at least 110 acre in the Azamabad Industrial Area in Musheerabad would be converted to freehold for the original allottees.

If the scheme is successful, the state's coffers would be refilled with Rs 20 billion, and the allottees and businesspeople who successfully fought for the government to grant the land freehold status for multiple uses will profit. The action would also prevent unauthorised use of industrial land that was leased.
