Rajasthan housing board to focus on small towns for projects

The Rajasthan Housing Board plans to start residential projects this year in tiny towns in the state such Bhindar, Salumbar, and Nimbahera.

The majority of the 4,500 residential units Shantilal Dhariwal, minister of urban development and housing (UDH), announced for this year on Wednesday would be built in smaller cities.

"We previously introduced an app through which we track the demand for housing throughout all towns and cities, particularly the smaller ones.

We had chosen a few small cities where we would build residential projects this year based on this demand "said Pawan Arora, commissioner of housing.

The planned projects would be undertaken in 17 cities across 14 districts of the state this year and were introduced by Dhariwal on Wednesday morning at his home. At Pratap Nagar in Jaipur, a shopping centre with 132 showrooms will also be built.

The housing board is prepared to construct upscale homes in Jaipur, including independent villas and complexes with 3BHK and 4BHK flats, even though it has evenly distributed these 4,500 residential units among various categories ranging from EWS to HIG.

"These developments would offer furnished, move-in ready apartments. These would have amenities like security, clubhouses, and various forms of entertainment, just like any other posh complex. While the 4BHK apartments would be 231.8 square metres in size and the villas would be two sizes (135 square metres and 105 square metres), the 3BHK apartments would be three sizes (231.8 square metres, 176.58 square metres, and 144.86 square metres), respectively ""Arora" added.
