Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana builds 3+ crore houses

Officials announced that over 30 million homes have been built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (rural and urban) scheme, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's handover of 19,000 homes to beneficiaries in Gujarat the following day.

They highlighted that Modi has consistently attended the "griha pravesh" ceremonies for these houses, emphasising the importance of timely completion and handover of projects.

In April, the Prime Minister attended a ceremony in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, where he handed over keys to 400,000 beneficiaries. He also participated in a similar event for 200,000 beneficiaries in Tripura in December last year.

In October last year, Modi attended a video conferencing event for 451,000 Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojna (rural) beneficiaries in Satna, Madhya Pradesh. In November, he inaugurated 3,024 EWS flats in Kalkaji, Delhi for the rehabilitation of slum dwellers.

In March last year, he participated in a video conferencing ceremony for 500,000 beneficiaries in Madhya Pradesh.

In October 2021, the Prime Minister handed over keys to 75,000 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojna (urban) in 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
