Coal India, DVC to Build ?165 Billion Power Plant in Jharkhand
State-run miner Coal India Ltd (CIL) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) to develop a coal-fired ultra-supercritical power plant in Jharkhand with a total investment of ?165 billion. The plant, to be developed on a 50:50 joint venture basis, will feature 2x800 MW units and will be a brownfield expansion of the existing Chandrapura Thermal Power Station, which currently runs at a capacity of 2x250 MW.
