Five Innovative Fabrics by Nya Nordiska

Nya Nordiska's trademark style includes modern design, natural fibres, and unique textures. The brand, which is only accessible in India through furniture retailer Maishaa, has now released an innovative collection created in cooperation with London-based product designer Bodo Sperlein. Blast, Blitz, Boom, Balbo CS, and Boja CS are five distinct fabric inventions that have their creative roots in Vorticism, an English contribution to Modernism that combines natural inspiration with aspects of Cubism.

Blast Blast is a large jacquard pattern with a Vorticist Cubist design on a very fine thread cotton background. The line is made up of 70% cotton and 30% polyester and comes in four different colours. This flexible fabric may be used for curtains, cushions, panel curtains, and roller shades in addition to being a bedspread.

Blitz: Blitz, which has the same fabric quality as Blast, with cubic shapes strung together like collages to produce an all-over design. The blitz-like lightening's jagged form emits pure energy, almost like stylized graffiti. The large jacquard made of fine-threaded cotton has an optical presence thanks to its two colours in three gentle colour combinations.

Boom: Boom is a unique upholstery fabric that also works well as a thick drapery. The recycled wool print pattern mixes the natural appearance and feel of the material with a feeling of sustainability. When combined with a synthetic fibre component (20 percent polyester), it creates a unique look. -Martindale has a population of 60,000 people. Boom is quite durable (it's made of 5% rubs, 5% polyamide, and 5% acrylic).

Balbo CS: The organic-looking dot components in Balbo CS were created by Bodo Sperlein and are based on the designer's own handprint. The textile version of the theme also includes a nod to nature and workmanship. This semi-transparent drapery fabric's dotting seems crosshatched, and its shape is as unique as its natural counterpart. Boja CS: The print pattern on Boja CS is based on Nya Nordiska's popular, semi-transparent, high-quality Soufflé CS Uni (a fine floating polyester Trevira CS). Threads are connected to produce a contemporary, net-like structure that extends, almost coral-like, over the light-as-a-feather foundation fabric in this design. Because Boja CS is constructed of fire-resistant Trevira CS, it may also be used to decorate.
