D B Realty wins legal case concerning land in Mumbai

D B Realty told the media that it has won a legal case regarding the title of land owned by the company in Mumbai and will now develop a 2 million sq ft office complex in Mumbai.

D B Realty informed that its subsidiary, Esteem Properties, has about 22,000 sq m of land at Andheri East in Mumbai and was the issue of Public Interest Litigation (PIL).

Earlier in 2010, High Court (HC) at Mumbai had ruled against Esteem. Esteem Properties subsequently preferred an appeal against the High Court’s order before the Supreme Court (SC).

The company said that Supreme Court vide order dated 28 February 2022 has interalia allowed Esteem’s appeal.

According to the Supreme Court, the company said that the freehold vacant land of about 22,000 sq m situated in the commercial zone is now available to Esteem for development. According to a statement, the company plans to develop the subject land into a 2 million sq ft leasable area of Grade A office space in the next three years.
