Celebrating Construction Industry Day!

An elocution competition saw the participation of 10 Civil Engineering and Civil Diploma Students of engineering colleges and five Polytechnics across MMR.
In celebration of Construction Industry Day 2014-15, Builders Association of India (BAI) conducted the Dr Narendra D Patel Memorial Inter-Collegiate Elocution Competition at VJTI Engineering College, Matunga in Mumbai, on the theme ´Build for Tomorrow with a Mind for Day After´.

The Judges for the competition were as follows - Himanshu Vakharia, Vice President, Contracts, New Consolidated Construction Co Ltd; Kavita Srivastava, Architect, Interior Designer & Landscape Architect; Pankaj Srivastava, COO, Maitreya Developers; Shriyal Sethumadhavan, Sr Assistant Editor, Construction World; Sudhakar Mody, CEO, Super Tiles & Marble Pvt Ltd.

The winner in the Engineering College Category was St John College of Engineering and Technology, Palghar, represented by Cardoz Hazel Godwin and Bachuka Abhay Anil. In the Polytechnic Category, Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Matunga, represented by Alyan Shaikh and Prasanna Pakhare won.

Considering the huge success of the last two years earlier events, the Executive Committee decided to appoint Neerav Parmar, Chairman, BAI, Mumbai Centre, as the Chairman of the Organising Committee, ´Construction Industry Day´ for the next five years.
