L&T Construction secures significant business orders

Construction major L&T Construction has secured significant orders for its various businesses across India.

The metallurgical and material handling (MMH) business of the company has acquired engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) orders from National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) Limited.

According to a statement, L&T has been awarded an EPC order for 12 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of dry circuit systems on a turnkey basis for a screening plant from NMDC at its Kirandul Complex Chhattisgarh.

The project consists of tertiary crushing, two stages of screening, stacking, reclaiming and dispatching non-iron ore along with the associated civil, structural and auxiliary facilities.

NMDC's plant at Kirandul Complex is one of the country's largest iron-ore handling plants, which aims to ensure constant iron ore supply for the customers of NMDC. Its MMH business sector has also acquired new orders for its products business into the mining sector.

Its buildings and factories business has also acquired a significant order from Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for constructing a fight control system facility at Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) in Bengaluru.

The company said that the project includes the construction of a 1.2 lakh sq ft unit with ground plus six floors within a deadline of four months.
