Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, unveiled the pricing Guidelines for PPP projects in key ports, which the union government describes as a substantial reform for the port industry. The necessity for new standards developed as a result of the new Major Port Authority Act of 2021, which went into force on November 3rd. The clause of the former Tariff Authority for Major Ports (TAMP) has been repealed in the current act. Major Port's PPP concessionaires currently handle around half of the total traffic handled by all of India's major ports.
