India is making significant strides in Hyperloop technology with key developments at IIT Madras and ICF Chennai. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the electronics component technology for the Hyperloop project will be developed at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai. He visited IIT Madras' Discovery Campus, home to Asia’s longest 410-meter Hyperloop test tube, and lauded the indigenous advancements in the project.The Ministry of Railways has also signed an MoU between RDSO and IIT Madras, securing Rs 20.89 crore in funding to establish a Centre of Excellence for Hyperloop technology. This initiative aims to develop a sub-scale model of the Hyperloop pod, a test track, and a vacuum tube facility to validate the futuristic transport system.During his visit, Vaishnaw highlighted India's leadership in data science, AI, and semiconductors, announcing that the country’s first indigenously made semiconductor will roll out by the end of the year. He also commended IIT Madras’ young innovators and their contributions to India's technological progress.
